"Come on a Safari with me" - by Ron Neels

March 21, 2024

“Come on a safari with me.” After an intense week with so many conflicting emotions and mental gymnastics it was good to relax and just be a tourist. Our last organized group event was a safari experience at Mvuu Lodge. The facilities were amazing, the wildlife reserve setting was beautiful, and the creatures we encountered were unlike anything we’ve ever seen before.

It was an awesome way to end our week together. We came together as a group and left as a team. We came together as acquaintances with little or no connection, we left as friends. We spent a week together. We marvelled together, we laughed together, we cried together, and we socialized together. I can truly say we couldn’t have had a better group to travel with. Thanks especially to Cornelis for his leadership, dedication, commitment, spiritual insights, and unfailing humour.

Now we go our separate ways. If God grants us travelling mercies we’ll be home before Sunday. It will be good to see family and friends again. But it won’t be an easy reintegration. At the risk of sounding “overdreven” I’m going to assert that this has been a life impacting experience (those of you who know me may be pleased to hear that I don’t think I’ll ever be the same again. 😊)

May God bless Timotheos. May God bless the people of Malawi. May God bless us all.
