Visiting Timotheos' Office and a Technical College - by Ron Neels

March 19, 2024

Back on the road again! 8:00 start. A little later today. We certainly didn’t come to Malawi to catch up on our sleep. This morning we visited the central office and storehouse of Timotheos Foundation in Blantyre. After a warm welcome we toured the facilities by means of a well prepared scavenger hunt for information that had us interacting with all of the staff. It was super “leerzaam” and engaging. One thing we learned: Timotheos is blessed with passionate, dedicated, and talented staff. Thanks for all you do!

Today we also visited Aida Chilembwe Community Technical College to see 21 graduates of the Timotheos schools who are pursuing vocational training: plumbing, electrical, ICT, fine arts, mechanics, bricklaying, etc. This is a practical program for those not interested or capable of following an academic university education. Something for Timotheos to consider? It certainly precipitated a ton of discussion.

Lunch at KFC and a visit to some local markets rounded up the day. A much more “technical” day that left us engaged and impressed with the challenges and opportunities that our Timotheos Malawi team grapple with on an ongoing basis. We wish them success and God’s indispensable blessings.
