One last look at the center and some family time...

Yesterday morning, we went to the center for the last time this trip. As you know we have been working on collecting data for sponsorship updates so we returned to gather data from any children who were absent the previous two days. Most of the Standard 8 children also came yesterday as they have been on holidays while they wait for their exam results! After this was complete and recess was over, we handed out sweets in each classroom, and the cards and small gifts that some sponsors sent to their sponsor child! They loved the letters and we strongly encourage you all to communicate with your sponsor child! It really brightens them up! They feel recognized and important and some have even told us, “I really want to hear from my sponsor, or who is my sponsor” etc. By that time it was 11:15 and we needed to get on the road!

On our way down to Ngona lodge (where we would be staying for the night) we stopped at Ahava Ministries where a woman by the name of Ms. Chrissy runs a clinic for the neighboring villages! She gave us a tour of the facility where she has multiple feeding programs, a clinic and a soap making business! She also grows moringa, a vitamin/supplement that provides many necessary items for the Malawians. A lot of the moringa she sells to Timotheos for the children in our programs. Before we travelled to Malawi I made 7 flannel receiving blankets for babies. I was able to gift one to a 1.5 month old baby in the village and the rest I left with Ms. Chrissy. She knows who needs them and will be able to distribute them through her clinic.

After visiting the clinic we piled into the car again, and went to our lodge which was well off the beaten track and way up in mountain! It is amazing to us how their are houses and villages everywhere! We thought most communities would be centered around the main road in the South but this is not true, their are communities and people EVERYWHERE.

It was good to connect with our family and discuss all we have seen the last few days. This morning we went swimming and then we went on a short safari ride in Majete Park! We then drove back to Blantyre and now we are just starting with dinner!
